Moments of Multitude

  • Backhaus Projects 168 Weserstr. Berlin, BE, 12045 Germany (map)

Kicking off 2025, Berlin-based artist, Katarina Eva, will show selected works from her In a Single Moment and Abstract Expressions collections during her first solo exhibition at Backhaus Projects, running January 3rd - 8th.

Despite the majority of our lived experiences being dominated by the immediacy of visual inputs, our memories are most often triggered by the more ambiguous senses, like sound, resulting in a multifaceted recollection of emotion and imagery. These Pieces take complementary approaches to the rediscovery of the Self through the time-Based process of abstracting recorded media (ex. concert films, movie musicals, video recordings, etc.) and meditation on emotions until they evolve into complex works extending far beyond their sources.

See the catalogue here.

In an effort to enrich the experiences of her visitors, Katarina has arranged a series of events and workshops during her exhibition. Each one complements the artists’ works by engaging the senses in a variety of media. See below for a list of events and their respective hosts:
